Your Board-Certified Neurologist in Vienna, Professor Hakan Cetin, MD, DPhil

As a dedicated neurologist, I am committed to provide my patients with comprehensive care of their neurological issues in due consideration of individual perspectives and following scientifically founded treatment strategies. In the comfortable setting of my private office, there will be ample opportunity to thoroughly discuss complaints and concerns, and for an in-depth clinical examination, which is of particular importance for a detailed diagnosis especially in the context of complex neurological conditions. Due to my appointment as a senior physician at the University Department of Neurology in Vienna and in charge with a general neurology ward, I am familiar with the entire spectrum of neurology, with a specific clinical and scientific focus on neuromuscular diseases. My therapeutic approach is always based on my patients’ needs and involves individually tailored therapies. In doing so, I collaborate with colleagues who rank among the best in their respective specialties and to whom I am happy to refer my patients if required.

Services

Due to my extensive clinical and scientific education at the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Oxford, and my current appointment as a senior physician at the University Department of Neurology, I am familiar with the entire spectrum of neurological diseases. As a Wahlarzt with a private office, I do not hold contracts with statutory health insurances and can therefore not accept e-cards. After each visit, patients will be presented an itemised invoice including all my services that can then be submitted to the patient’s health insurance provider to apply for partial reimbursement. If you are unable to keep an appointment, you are kindly asked for cancellation at least 48 hours in advance.

Special qualification

I have a special interest in neuromuscular disorders and have been working both clinically and scientifically in this field since 2010.

Neuromuscular disorders encompass a heterogeneous group of autoimmune-inflammatory, neurodegenerative and genetic muscle and nerve disorders that share various similarities and the differentiation of which requires profound experience with these disorders.

Here, I can offer my patients the professional management of their disease and, if required, provide additional counselling on current research projects and clinical trials.
